FRESHLY SCRUBBED FILMS

Art by Leia Bell

BY DOUG FABRIZIO & ELAINE CLARK / March 21, 2007
National Public Radio, Radio West

Doug Fabrizio discussed the sanitized movie phenomenon with Daniel Thompson of Flix Club, Vince Horiuchi of The Salt Lake Tribune, and Dean Duncan of Brigham Young University today.

"Last year, the US District Court decided that movies edited by companies like the now-defunct CleanFlicks are in violation of copyright law. Logan-based Flix Club has stepped in to fill the void under a "fair-use" loophole. Radiowest will discuss the consumers who are willing to pay for these sanitized movies, and the artists who want their work to be left alone."
